Orbited PylonsChat tutorial
Orbited is a lightweight http-push library that is intended to be scaleable. It's easy to get started using orbited with Pylons. Here's a link to the Pylons version of a tutorial that will walk you through the creation of a simple web chat application implemented using the python orbited client:

A couple great Pylons Screencasts from Jon Rosebaugh. Covers getting started with Pylons on Windows and Komodo Edit, and creating a basic web app with Elixir for the database layer.
